Well, Game 5 did NOT happen the way I was expecting it to be. My odds to win World Series in Game 5 was the Rays due to their momentum in Game 4. Instead I was dead wrong. The Los Angeles Dodgers capitalized on the base running errors and was able to seal the deal in Game 5.
Odds to Win World Series: Dodgers Smelling Blood
With a 3-2 lead, the Commissioner’s Trophy is within the LA Dodgers grasp. That said, the Dodgers have the highest odds to win World Series. They have, once and for all, got things under control and is now sitting at the driver’s seat this World Series.
Corey Seager (0.471) and Justin Turner (0.364) have the two highest batting averages in the Dodgers lineup. They are the Dodgers main arsenal at the batter’s mound and have been responsible for most of the Dodgers runs. With victory in sight, I expect these two to deliver their best offense for LA to win.
Win or Go Home
Now, the Rays are facing elimination come Game 6 on Tuesday. I know they want to force and extend the season to a seventh and deciding game, however, I do not see this as the case. We might see a little back and forth action during the course of nine innings.
Obviously, I would expect the Rays to not back away from a fight. Like any other elimination game, Tuesday night’s game might be as close as Game 4. But for Game 6 to be a competitive ballgame, the Rays starters must stand up if they don’t want their season to end.
