NFL Odds Monday Night Football – The NFL circus heads to the Bay Area to witness a classic East Coast-West Coast matchup. The AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills face the San Francisco 49ers in what promises to be an exhilarating game.
The Bills and 49ers each notched up convincing wins against both of their LA opponents. Buffalo got balanced contributions from everybody to help dispatch the Chargers. Meanwhile, the Niners needed some last-second heroics from Robbie Gould to beat the Rams at SoFi Stadium.
NFL Odds and Verdict: Niners Edge Out Bills
I have here my pick on who will MNF on primetime. I choose San Fran to pull out all the stops and grind out a W over Buffalo.
The 49er defense was sensational harassing Jared Goff the whole game. They need more of this to contain Josh Allen and the Bills in their push towards the playoffs.
Predicted Score: SF 27 – BUF 20
X-Factor: Richard Sherman
The 49ers got a welcome sight when Richard Sherman is one of the many players that returned from the Injured Reserve List. In Sherman’s first game back, he picked off Goff’s pass and fired up the Niners’ defense.
San Francisco’s secondary followed Sherman’s lead and they completely pounced Goff to not allow him to get in rhythm. Their aggressive strategy forced LA to cough the ball up and they even came up with a defensive touchdown along the way. San Francisco could not have done it without Sherman which proved crucial towards their playoff push.
With the defense now healthy and revitalized, the 49ers are ready to soar up the standings in the NFC playoff race. Should they at least earn a wild card spot after Week 17, a healthy Sherman is enough to carry them through.
