NFL News – Week 15 concluded with the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks each punching their ticket to the NFL Playoffs. They both join Kansas City, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, and Green Bay as the only teams to have make the NFL Playoffs thus far.
How They Got Here?
The Bills clinched their playoff berth thanks to Josh Allen’s masterpiece with a dominant win over the Denver Broncos Saturday. With that win, Buffalo won the AFC East title for the first time since 1995, ending the 3rd longest active division title drought in the NFL.
There’s more celebration within the Buffalo Bills camp as they now move up to 2nd place in the AFC standings. This one is courtesy to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ shocking loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football in Cincy. With the Steelers reeling, the Bills have a shot at finishing as the no.1 seed in the AFC playoff bracket with the defending NFL Champion Kansas City Chiefs standing in their way.
Buffalo has to win its final two games and hope for KC to suffer a 2-game losing skid to end the regular season. They will need the help of the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Chargers to make it happen. The Bills have the tiebreaker over the Chiefs with a better divisional record. This proves to be crucial in determining the AFC Playoff seedings after Week 17 which remains to be seen.
The Seahawks needed every bit of muscle to pull out a W against the gritty Washington Football Team. Despite Russell Wilson’s subpar game, Seattle displayed total team effort in dispatching Washington and this was enough to grab them a NFC playoff spot.
The Seattle Seahawks can secure another NFC West title with a win against the Los Angeles Rams on Week 16. The Hawks are a game behind the Green Bay Packers for NFC’s best record. As it currently stands, Seattle lies 3rd in the NFC playoff race (10-4) with the New Orleans Saints in 2nd.
The Seahawks must win Weeks 16 and 17 in order to clinch the NFC’s top seed. They will need both the Packers and Saints to go 0-2 and 1-1, respectively over that same stretch. Seattle is well aware of what’s at stake and they’ll give it their absolute best to deliver goods which they’ve done that several times before.
