The last yet notable free agent on the list is: Tyson Chandler

The 38-year-old Chandler is heading towards the twilight of his career now that he’s about to reach his 40’s. This veteran insists that he still has something left in the tank and that may still be the case for Tyson Chandler.

Chandler is regarded as one the most intimidating defenders and ferocious rebounders during his prime in the NBA. Not to mention, he is also one of the most adept in finishing off alley oops.

Chandler’s greatest achievements was when he won an NBA title with the Dallas Mavericks and when he was the 2012 Defensive Player of the Year during his time with the New York Knicks. Chandler’s work ethic, effort, and championship pedigree makes reasonable sense for Myers to sign him for the kind of character he presents.

Chandler as Defensive Instructor to Golden State’s Youngsters

Should Chandler join Golden State, he will be a defensive mentor to the likes of Kelly Oubre and James Wiseman. Oubre is proven to be an adept defender which is perfect for Tyson Chandler to make his defensive prowess more well-rounded.

On defense, Chandler will be Oubre’s voice in committing to switch on the pick-and-roll. When Oubre is playing iso-defense, he must take full caution on where the screen will be placed. Chandler can storm in from behind to take the strong side so that Oubre will only have to defend the weak side. They must ensure though that both sides of the pick are well-protected to prevent the opposition an easy pick-and-roll opportunity.

Warriors’ Outlook for this Season

via NBA.com

We all know that the competition for the Dubs will be tougher next season. A large part of this is due to Klay Thompson being sidelined again for the entire season. The Golden State Warriors must make all the necessary adjustments if they want to return or even be considered as part of the elite teams within the NBA.

The pressure is on for Steve Kerr, Steph Curry and the rest of the Warriors franchise as the margin of error they have for this season is as little as possible. All eyes will definitely be on them come their first game of the season.
